For many of us, the first day of school is a childhood milestone we remember forever.
New clothes. A backpack. A new classroom. Meeting a teacher. Sitting beside new classmates. The excitement of beginning something new.
But for millions of children around the world, that first day never comes.
PEB is changing that in Pakistan.
By providing high-quality education in communities where opportunities are limited, PEB is helping more children experience their own first day of school.
And now, Kinnaird Academy is making room for 200 more.
200 more seats.
200 more first days.
200 more opportunities.
Kinnaird Academy is full, with more than 200 children currently on the waiting list. To make room for as many students as possible, classes have been held in hallways, makeshift spaces, and offices, but there simply isn’t any more room.
That’s why this expansion is so important.
The first phase, a new administration building, is complete, moving school offices out of spaces needed for students. Now, Kinnaird is ready to move forward with the next phase: a new academic building with nine classrooms and space for 200 additional students.
Once complete, the expansion will allow Kinnaird to grow from approximately 750 students to more than 950 while restoring important learning spaces, including the library, music room, and art room.
This is more than a building. It’s part of PEB’s mission to help reduce the 26 million children out of school in Pakistan.
Expanding Kinnaird means hope, opportunity, and a future for hundreds more students.
Friends of PEB is working to raise $300,000 by December 31, 2026.
Reaching this goal will allow construction on Kinnaird Academy’s new academic building to begin. An additional $300,000 will still be needed to fully fund the project.

For many families in Lahore, Kinnaird Academy offers an opportunity they cannot find anywhere else.
In a conservative Muslim community, Christian families often have limited access to safe, high-quality education for their children. Many cannot afford private schools, and other educational options may not provide the same level of safety, academic quality, or welcoming environment.
Kinnaird Academy is different.
Here, Christian and Muslim students learn side by side in a safe, caring environment where every child is known and valued. Students receive a high-quality education that gives them the opportunity to learn, grow, discover their abilities, and imagine new possibilities for their future.
For many families, there simply aren’t other options. When there isn’t room for a child at Kinnaird, that child may not have the opportunity to attend school at all. That’s why this expansion matters.
The new academic building will create space for 200 more students, opening the door to an education that could otherwise be out of reach.
